A song I wrote after waking on a beach to find myself enveloped in a sea fog

Lyrics

Walls of stillness
crept upon the sea.
Creasing sheets of breezes,
to chill so suddenly
I had slept but for an hour,
seemed t’was such an age
Wondering how upon me waking, the weather jumped a page

Chorus:
And all the birds had all flown away,
to spin and reel for a warmer day
And all the boats they just sat quite still,
they were whispering in their blindness,
all in the bay

Giant gulls, flew to roost,
amidst the haze to find
That all around, sails hung loose in the doldrums left behind.
How you mould the mixture blue
and moist the iced sea air
And glaze the sun so softly
to sift its glowing glare

Chorus:

Empty beauty, so serene
from the ocean to land.
Enveloping, a stillness
like a mill pond to the sand.
Still there, to feel and touch
so close within my reach
to reconnect and see so much
in a sea fog on the beach
In a sea fog on the beach.
