A song written in Greece regales a story told to me by a fisherman about an old Drovers Inn I once stayed in on the Isle of Mull where in 1890 a cattle boat named the "Everyman" set sail bound for Oban in but disappeared presumed sunk with all on board lost. The Inn by the old stone harbour was where the drovers stayed overnight before sailing to market in Oban

Lyrics

The Olive Grove Stair

I went down to the Olive Grove stair.
Cascades of bougainvillea took me there
That led me onto the rocky salt cove.
Into webs of memories that the seascape had bestowed

That took me down to the harboured cove
To the isle of Mull sat by a Drover Inn stove
From whence they drove cattle to ol' Oban.
'pon a wide berth boat called the Everyman

How the tide did swell till it burst the banks
The river flowed on until the bridge it had sank.
And all the while an eagle flew, but not with the fishing smack
As the “Everyman” sailed away, never to come back

Chorus:
And the cusps of the waves, are each freshly born
They bare sharpened teeth that’ll cut through a stern
And how winds doth blow till a storm is brew
The day a boat was lost from an eagle’s view
